The Dunedin Chapter established the internationally-renowned Thunder in the Glens Harley-Davidson rally in 1993, holding the first event at Butlin's in 1994 in Ayr. The original Edinburgh dealership, "Alvins" was closely involved in the early years. Nobody could have anticipated just how popular the rally would become. The stunning backdrop of the Spey Valley and its inhabitants come to life every August with the throb of engines, but the real stars are the bikers, who are pictured in all their exhibitionist glory, with their customized bikes and gear, and their colourful anecdotes of rallies past. Each year the event ends with rock concerts, fireworks, and a legendary party.
