Every scientist and engineer needs to use computers for applications in their own subject area. This book teaches the reader how to write their programs in Pascal. The authors present an introductory text for beginners. They avoid unnecessary jargon, and do not present more information than is absolutely necessary about the internal operation of the computer. They introduce the elementary techniques by means of examples, and encourage the reader to develop a good programming style through the exercises set in each chapter. The book is written in two parts. The first is a self-contained introduction to Pascal; the second part examines the computer applications that are of interest to the scientist and engineer.
