Nick Maxwell is a Collingwood premiership captain, leading the team to its first premiership in 20 years in 2010. He played 208 games between 2004 and 2014, and captained the club from 2009-2013. He made the All-Australian team in 2009, and won many club accolades. In 2008, he was handed the number 5 jersey by Nathan Buckley, former captain, club icon, and current coach. Maxwell retired after Round 17 in 2014 due to a season-ending ankle injury.
