Three-dimensional image reconstruction using a multi-ring positron emission tomograph (PET) is the most reliable method of detecting primary and metastatic or recurrent cancer, whether qualitatively or quantitatively. With the development of 3D-PET, the PET technique is now feasible not only as a laboratory tool, but also as a clinical instrument. This volume aims to lift the world-wide 'curtain of ignorance' concerning PET.
