Mitchell was a bright, talented person from a young age. He started reading when he was about 2 years old. He wrote all of these poems in this book when he was in Grade 2, between the ages of 7 and 8. Much later in life, in university, he wrote a report where the professor said that in 30 years of teaching, he had never given a student 100%. Not only did Mitchell get 100%, but he gave him a 5% bonus: 105% for a report that was very well done!
