Ratikanta Maiti, Ph.D., D.Sc., is a renowned Botanist of international repute with specialization in crop Physiology and Botany. He worked for nine years as a senior botanist in Jute Agricultural Research Institute, Barracpore (I.C.A.R.), Kolkata, West Bengal, and for 10 years as a senior Plant Physiologist in ICRISAT, Patancheru, A.P., India. Then, he worked as Senior Professor and Senior Research Scientist (CONACYT, Mexico, for 18 years) in two Universities in Mexico for 20 years. During his scientific career, he has developed innovative techniques for the screening of salinity and drought of several crops. As author of more than 30 books, he has won several international awards such as international Scientist award offered by IBC, Cambridge and Ehanobotanist Award-2003 sponsored by Friends University, U.S.A. and U.N.D.P. and gold medal for India 2008 offered ABI.
Humberto Gonzalez Rodriguez is a faculty member at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Facultad de Ciencias Forestales (School of Forest Sciences), Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He has received his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Texas A&M University in 1993 under the advice of Dr. Wayne R. Jordan and Dr. Malcolm C. Drew. He is currently working on water relations and plant nutrition in native woody trees and shrubs, northeastern Mexico. Besides, his research includes also nutrient deposition via litterfall in different forest ecosystems. Dr Gonzalez teaches chemistry, plant physiology and statistics.
Dr. SM Jalil is a veteran professional in natural resource conservation and management. He worked for the Government as Chief Conservator of forest of Bangladesh. Before being selected for the superior forest service cadre as Assistant conservator of forest, he served as Assistant professor of plant ecology in Jagannth college, Dhaka. He has been serving the country since 1963 in various position and subjects like administration, executive, research planning and teaching. He is presently rendering voluntary service with position as President, Forestry and environment Forum, Bangladesh.
