Rezensionen / Stimmen
"A major component to managing a school library media center is the administrative tasks that keep the program running smoothly and successfully. Library media specialists search for procedures and processes that will give them more time for instruction and working with students and less time on the management tasks. Procedures, forms, and documents can all help save time, but often times knowing what is needed or where to start is daunting. Collections of sample documents exist in other books, but what makes this volume different is that not only does it provide examples, but it also creates a rationale and guidance for creating original documents. Each chapter begins with why the documents are needed, followed by practical advice for writing the documents, and examples of how the documents can make an effective change in the library media program. Samples in the back of each chapter are not all-inclusive examples, but rather are meant to help guide a library media specialist in creating her own documents. The book is organized into eight main categories: planning, official reports, publicity, teaching, programming, procedures, rules, and interactive forms. Beginning library media specialists will especially find the suggestions helpful as they start out, but veterans also will find helpful tips and suggestions that will streamline their existing programs. Recommended." - Library Media Connection
