The book analyzes the role of communication in the various electoral processes that have taken place to date in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Elections are essential to the country's future, yet they remain marred by vagueness, mistrust, misinformation and populist rhetoric - in short, by notorious challenges to communicative leadership. The book sheds light on the impact of the communication leadership deficit, both among candidates and voters, and explores the excesses of a political language that is often disconnected from the realities of the citizenry. Based on a review of past elections and a critical analysis of communication practices, the book proposes a framework for recovery based on ethical and theoretical principles drawn from theology, social sciences, linguistics and leadership, advocating a communication reform centered on responsibility, coherence and emotional intelligence. To this end, the book suggests two concrete projects aimed at transforming political discourse into a vector of hope.
