John Lloyd, political commentator and 1984 Journalist of the Year, addresses the future of the Labour Party. He proposes that they need to radically rethink their essential policies in order to present themselves as a viable alternative to Thatcherism. He particularly criticises their policies on nationalization, nuclear defence, education and health. John Lloyd is currently Russian correspondent for the "Financial Times". He has previously been editor of "The New Statesman" and producer of "Weekend World" and "The London Programme".
