In this book the author points out the inadequacies caused by the division between housing research on production and consumption, and the theoretical divide between structural and agent-centred approaches on housing. By developing an understanding of social relations within the structured process of housing provision, the author argues that action and the specific form of housing provision can be better understood. By using pre-sale housing in Taiwan as a positive example, the author shows how housing production and consumption are closely related and structured through agents' purposive interaction, and how agents are benefited through their relations.
