The International Symposium on Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics (ISEM) is an interdisciplinary international forum. This publication concerns the 12th event and was organized by the following three institutions: Vienna Magnetics Group, TU BioMed - Society for Biomedical Engineering, Bioelectricity & Magnetism Lab; and the Vienna University of Technology. Following the ISEM tradition to modify the focus of events in a rather flexible way, the scope of this publication considers magnetic and biological aspects with some preference, according to the thematic structure of the organizing institutions. The wide range of topics should stimulate further interdisciplinary co-operations between scientists in different fields of research. Further, it should favor the transfer of intellectual models between different disciplines. The papers concern advanced aspects of metrology, or direct links between brain and computer.
Topics being addressed are Magneto-mechanical topics; Applied micro & nano-magnetism; Measurement & modeling in magnetism; Thermal problems & technologies; Non-destructive evaluation & inverse problems; Bioelectricity & biomagnetism; Advanced sensors and actuators; Nonlinear control and systems; Biomechanical & electromechanical topics; Optical problems & technologies; and Learning systems and Advanced computing.
