A book of multiple choice questions designed to be used as a method of self-assessment, which aims to cover all relevant aspects of otolaryngology, including otology, audiology, rhinology (including allergy), laryngology (including head and neck cancer surgery), relevant pharmacology, physiology, basic and applied anatomy, microbiology and pathology. The multiple choice questions are based on those aspects of otolaryngology which have most relevance to clinical practice and take into account the importance of multiple choice questions in Part 1 of the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). The book is not divided into separate sections and the the questions are not arranged in any specific order. Each question consists of a common stem, giving rise to five branches, the stem and a single branch together constitute an independent statement requiring a true or false answer by the reader.
