Family Complexes

Based on an encyclopaedia article written in 1938, "Family Complexes" appears here for the first time in English. In it the author outlines three key psychological complexes (the weaning complex, the intruder complex and the Oedipus complex), their relations to the structures of the western family and the development of these complexes as they become psychoses and neuroses. The book provides an overview of the central themes of his writings, particularly the minor stage and the function of the Oedipus complex.
