LETTERS OF PEACE

This is a selection of the best letters from a national children's competition, all inspired by the word "peace". The letters reflect the variety of subjects children associate with this word. Some of the writers imagine themselves in another century, with one letter written from Charles I to Oliver Cromwell begging for an end to the bloody Civil War. Others comment on the situation in Bosnia, or other warring countries, whilst some describe peaceful places they have visited. The letters are accompanied by paintings and photographs by art students.
