Technical improvements in ultrasonic instrumentation have facilitated the visualization and evaluation of the foetal anatomy. They have also permitted new methods of treatment for foetal and gynaecological diseases and disorders. This text covers the evaluation of early pregnancy, normal and abnormal foetal anatomy, techniques of ultrasound diagnosis and the use of colour Doppler.
