Steganography is the art of hiding information in such a way that no one can detect the hidden information. Cryptography is the art of hiding the meaning of a message rather than its existence. Mostly used techniques for steganography are based on image steganography and for this there are so many algorithms exist. Cryptography mainly implemented using AES techniques. In our work, we are proposing a technique using cryptography and steganography together for securing information in MMS. Spatial and frequency domains are generally used for image processing. It is a very common practice to hide data in LSB of the pixel, but LSB technique can be easily detected and does not provide adequate security. There are different transform techniques, which used for transformation e.g. DCT, FFT and wavelets. Here we are using Discrete Cosine transform (DCT) for image steganography and tiny encryption algorithm for cryptography. Tiny encryption algorithm (TEA) is block cipher algorithm. It is simple and fast but best for mobile application. The work here provides depth description of steganography and also provides the security in MMS.
