With its exposed location on a rock above the River Lahn, Limburg Cathedral presents itself like hardly any other German cathedral. The colourful, seven-towered church appears as a crown above the city. In addition to its architecture, the cathedral also impresses with its paintings: around 70% of the original plaster has been preserved in the church and is decorated with figurative and ornamental frescoes from the 13th century. The baptismal font - a figurative work of art made of sandstone - and the tomb of the founder Konrad Kurzbold are also particularly worth seeing.
