In spite of the volume of literature on the subject of marine fish farming, there is no up-to-date history of the subject. As much valuable data has been published in journals which are difficult to access, the author of this history felt there was a need for as complete an account as possible of those trials, failures and successes which have been recorded since the first descriptions by the Romans.
