Rabies is a life threatening disease which has been controlled to a large extent and even eradicated in some areas by immunization of the host species by oral vaccination. Europe has almost become rabies free, but there are issues of it occurring in wildlife hosts (foxes and bats) as well as dogs. This book describes the history, population biology, epidemiology and control of rabies in Europe and the Mediterranean regions and should be of interest to those involved in research or working with the disease.
