His first Ghazal collection Aameen was included in bestseller books and awarded with many prestigious literary awards. He is a Ghazal singer who built a strong bridge between Hindi-Urdu, whose compositions were voiced by almost all the famous singers of the cinema world including Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Ustad Rashid Khan, Hariharan, Shubha Mudgal. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and famous actor and writer Ashutosh Rana also lent their voice to Alok's compositions many times. He was specially honoured in Washington and Los Angeles of USA for fame in the field of Ghazal.
