Accessible and user-friendly, this book is designed to be used for implementing National Curriculum art - supporting both the teacher co-ordinator and the non-specialist teacher. A general introduction provides a rationale for developing visual literacy and outlines the statutory requirements. The first chapter deals with issues of classroom management and teaching strategies and subsequent activity-based chapters include drawing, painting, printing, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, technology, understanding art and artists, cross-curricular links, assessment and record-keeping and developing the school environment.
