Floristic quality assessment of margin biotopes in agricultural landscapes of selected natural spaces in Germany - a contribution to the risk management on the application of pesticides to determine environmental risks arising from chemical pesticides knowledge of the floristic quality of margin biotopes adjacent to agricultural areas is also needed. Assessment of this vegetation may be integrated into a regionalized risk management to protect the balance of nature. For this reason margin biotopes in various natural spaces have been randomly sampled from the north to the south of Germany for the composition of vegetation.
The first contribution describes an assessment scheme to determine the vegetation quality of margin biotopes. The contribution outlines regions with high-quality flora in margin biotopes in Germany. It specifies factors favouring high-quality floristic camposition of margin biotopes.
The second contribution (together with K. Arlt) presents the results of a longer-term monitoring for the effect of different cultivation of fields on the floristic quality of adjacent margin biotopes. It underlincs the necessity of long-lasting observation of fields to gain comprehensive knowledge of the floristic composition of margin biotopes.
