In today's complicated world the military is finding itself stretched across many facets of human conflict. There is a very special function in the military that is becoming a beacon of American humanity: first-rate medical care. The military finds itself dealing with a full spectrum of international relationships, anywhere from disaster response, to humanitarian response, to a major conflict. Air Force medicine needs to adapt to the current situation and become more effective in completing the diverse missions it is asked to accomplish - humanitarian-disaster response-support war winning operations. This paper explores how Air Force medicine responds to humanitarian events.
