Complete denture prosthesis involves the replacement of the lost naturalteeth and the associated structures of the maxilla and the mandible. One of the goals that the dentist has to achieve is to provide a denture that is retentive and stable which in turn enhances both function and esthetics. This prosthesis doesn¿t have sufficient elements for support, stability, and retention. That's why the registration of tissues should be taken meticulously and with maximum of precision that we can afford. The objectives of the primary impression are to record all the areas to be covered by the intaglio surface of the dentures and the adjacent landmarks with the minimum tissue displacement. The purpose of the final impression is to improve retention with bordermolding and minimize tissue distortion due to less viscous material andaccurately adapted tray. Finally, dentist should keep in mind that financial situation, anatomicaldifficulties can be hurdles to implantology treatments, that¿s why, basically, we have to master all the procedures related to the fabrication of conventional complete denture.
