Call and Response

The present crisis of Christian identity; the potential of Christian community to provide orientation for the individual Christian in the context of post-modern culture; the symbol of the Kingdom (or reign) of God; the biblical, theological and spiritual dimensions of this symbol; models of the church (as community, society, and the authority of Christian community); Different strategies of responding to God's call to build a new world; Christian visions of the whole and the extent to which they guide current approaches to mission; relationship between Christian hope for individual salvation and for salvation of the world; Three dimensions of every Christian faith praxis proclaiming, celebrating, sharing the new life in Christ; the potential of the Eucharist; the success and failure of ligturgical renewal; Relationship between Christian church and political realm; must the church be involved in politics? Sources of church renewal; the ecumenical movement, feminist theology, liberation theology, ecological theology etc; concrete steps which individuals and local Christian communities could take towards a more adequate response to the invitation to participate in the coming Kingdom of God.
