I wrote this little classic in my passion year of initiation 1984-85. Easy read. Down to earth. Useful A-Z list of words, with sharp wit. A lady of little education told me "I don't really read books. Life is too busy. But I propped yours on my kitchen sink and I could read a little every day."

Shan Jayran initiated 1984-85 as a Dianic when running her first independent project 'Tabbies' in Oldridge Rd. London UK. Shan founded House of the Goddess there in 1985 to provide much needed 'contact, support, learning an dcelebration' for Pagans and the likeminded. Her ethos was about making the Craft open and available, and to do so with as little hierarchy as possible. Shan continued to centre her teaching on the Goddess but included the God. She pioneered the addition of shamanic trance techniques. She is known to adore cats, and went on to become an eminent academic but that's another story..
Terry Wick was one of Shan's first students on her Circlework course. He said simply 'Tell me what you want drawn and I'll draw i" and he did, excellently, in 15 line drawings.
Victoria Able was another Circlework student who crafted the beautiful and quirky calligraphy for the main title and the subtitle.
