This book contains 54 papers and invited papers presented at the second international conference on global methods conducted at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1990. The meeting was the second in a series of conferences emphasizing a group of methodologies and their application across the full spectrum of physical problems. Organizers promoted international interaction of researchers who use integral methods in one of more applications. The invited speakers addressed "real", ie nonlinear problems, and their topics included design of vehicles for minimum drag at supersonic and hypersonic speeds, conservation laws and boundary conditions in fluid mechanics, applications of supercomputers, representation theory and nonlinear systems, and numerical experiments in three dimensions for excitable media.
