As the story unfolds, the reader accompanies her as she begins to question her very sanity as she fights the spark in a belief in things and possibilities she would rather not face. Helped by a sure of himself local; who is trying to persuade her to allow their friendship to develop into something more, she finds a small comfort in knowing she has someone to try to make sense of the strange series of events with in this coming of age story about one young woman who is connected to a place more than she knows.
