Gerontology

This text offers an innovative approach to the field of gerontology by bridging the gap between scientific researchers and clinicians. Early chapters deal with specific problems of ageing research: the difficulties of defining ageing, the importance of good study design and subject selection, and the application of epidemiological and statistical methods. The different approaches to gerontological research (at the levels of molecular biology, physiological systems and the function of the whole organism) are dealt within the central section.
