The authors argue that new safeguards are needed, especially now that computer networks are increasingly being brought into play. Mark Hollingsworth was one of the journalists who first broke the news of BBC political vetting in "The Observer". His previous books include "The Miners' Strike" with Geoffrey Goodman (1985) and "The Press and Political Dissent" (1986).
