Here are the faces of "The Firm", a misalliance of confederates concerned with the pursuit of company policy, the rules of engagement and company profits. They are faces which tell their own story. Since "Brighton Rock" in the 1940s, photographers and film directors have been trying to capture the personalities and characteristics of the British urban gangster on film. Jocelyn Bain Hogg has the real thing, the weft and warp of the faces to whom violence is common currency and to whom loyalty is above all. Almost by accident Jocelyn Bain Hogg was invited for a night out on the town with a couple of geezers. He took a few snaps; the geezers liked them. Then they invited him to take a few more of their friends. What followed was a comprehensive and highly intimate record of the faces of the British criminal underworld, the world of the Krays, the world of "The Firm".
