History of Britain Topic Books: Houses and Homes Paperback

Written to support the Key Stage 2 and 3 Study Units, this is one of a series of topic books which complement the "History of Britain" series. The book examines the buildings in which people have lived, from the first crude shelters and Roman villas to magnificent Tudor palaces and brick-built suburban homes. Thirteen double-page spreads illustrate the variety of materials and techniques used to build British houses, with artwork and photographs of furniture and decoration used by wealthy and poor house-builders.
