The Hills of Adonis

This represents one man's search for an ancient myth in a country of the past. For four months and 500 miles Colin Thubron walked through the mountains of Lebanon, tracing the gods who held the secrets of death and rebirth in the courtry`s ancient cults. What he found was a coastline of small, historic ports, some of the most impressive Phoenician, Greek and Roman sculpture in the world, superb natural scenery and people who formed a medley of races and religions.
