"Wealth Without Tears" is written as an investment guide for the lay-person, and as an introduction to portfolio theory. It is designed to fill the need for a book pitched between academic treatments of investment on the one hand, and the "get-rich-quick money-management" books on the other. It introduces and demystifies investment planning techniques and options, opening avenues to the personal investor which were previously only accessible to professionals. In three parts, the book explains the fundamental concepts of investment and major investment vehicles, and offers practical advice on portfolio investment strategies. The book is written by an investment journalist and an executive trainer: Arun Abey is Managing Director of IPAC Securities and writes regular investment articles in the "Finance Press"; Ean Higgins is a journalist who writes for the "Australian Financial Review" and "The Australian".
