This is a comprehensive annotated bibliography of the Beat Movement, the literary era that spanned the fifties and sixties and included such authors as Jack Keroac, William S. Burroughs, and Allen Ginsberg. The volume encompasses over 700 titles and nearly 200 authors and poets. The annotations include original texts and poems, critiques, and anthologies. Each annotation contains a list of reviews upon which the annotation is based. A brief biography and extensive bibliographic information familiarize readers with each of the Beat authors. The entire work is both cross-referenced and thoroughly indexed. A chronology of the Beat era and indexes of periodical and poem titles augment the volume.
