'Mad Nicholas' to his friends, 'Scourge of Spain' to the enemy, Sir Nicholas Beauvallet's exploits on the high seas have made him an equal to Sir Francis Drake and a favourite of the Queen.
When a captured galleon yields the lovely Dona Dominica de Rada y Sylva, he vows to return her and her father to the shores of Spain. But Beauvallet has never been known to resist a challenge. With his decision to stop at nothing to make Dominica his bride, he may have just taken on his most challenging adventure yet.
