Ich bin Hendrik B. Herhaus (Weber), 1977 in Deutschland geboren und lebe seit 2006 in Norwegen. Schon früh entwickelte ich ein starkes Interesse für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik - ein Interesse, das mich bis heute begleitet.
Seit der Ukraine-Krise im Jahr 2014 liegt mein thematischer Schwerpunkt auf den Entwicklungen in Russland, der Ukraine, dem Donbass und auf der Krim. Um mir ein eigenes Bild von der Lage vor Ort zu machen, reise ich seit 2016 regelmäßig in diese Regionen. Der direkte Austausch mit den Menschen und Gespräche mit politischen Vertretern sind mir dabei besonders wichtig - sie ermöglichen Perspektiven, die in der öffentlichen Debatte oft zu kurz kommen.
Aus dem Wunsch heraus, Brücken zu bauen und den Dialog zu fördern, habe ich 2017 die NGO Volksdiplomatie Norwegen gegründet. Ziel unserer Arbeit ist es, das gegenseitige Verständnis zu stärken und freundschaftliche Beziehungen zwischen Norwegen und Russland zu fördern - gerade in Zeiten geopolitischer Spannungen.
Für mein Engagement wurde ich 2021 unter anderem mit dem Orden der Freundschaft der Russischen Föderation ausgezeichnet - eine besondere Ehre, die ich als Ansporn verstehe, meinen Einsatz für Verständigung und Frieden fortzusetzen.
