What if learning to play the piano and reading music could take on an entirely different approach from what you've experienced so far? Imagine a method that is not only more playful and visual but also more efficient, structured, and, consequently, much easier than before.
The key to this lies in interconnected and holistic thinking. This type of thinking emerges when we activate diverse and sometimes opposing abilities and brain regions, encouraging them to collaborate. Our body serves as a gateway to subconscious learning throughout this process.
As we grasp concepts and engage in actions, we form connections based on these experiences. Connections that might otherwise seem abstract, complex, and hard to remember begin to make sense, one hurdle after another effortlessly melting away. Learning becomes a joyful and playful journey.
"Holistic approaches, in themselves, are not new. But this consistently implemented concept is a renewal of piano pedagogy. It's also new because it liberates music-making from the somewhat avoided gilded cage of art, while leading it towards that direction. At the same time, it keeps every individual in mind who wants to make music. Wonderful!" (J. Muschol)
The content of "first piano steps" are as follows:
This piano learning guide, through images, imagination, and emotions, nurtures structural, analytical, and efficient thinking when playing the piano. This enables you to interpret even the most complex musical structures in a simple, practical, and enjoyable way, making it easier to learn new pieces.

Mailyn Rebecca Henseler - qualified piano teacher, pianist, singer, author and pioneer of the Schneemann® piano learning system.
As founder of the "Musikakademie Uri", established in 2006, and the "SCHNEEMANN® Piano School" near Lucerne, which opened in 2016, she has built up an innovative team of Schneemann® piano teachers who offer customized group courses and 1:1 lessons for all playing levels, both online and on site.
Since 2008, Mailyn has been enriching piano pedagogy with holistic, brain-friendly advanced training courses - with over 100 graduates from various countries to date. Her multi-volume piano learning guides, including "First Steps at the Piano", "Next Steps at the Piano", "The Keyboard Zoo" and the "SCHNEEMANN® Color Code", created in collaboration with SCHNEEMANN® piano teacher Daniel Probst, have been translated into Spanish and English and have been an indispensable tool for piano teachers worldwide since 2010.
Her unique teaching methodology, which was recognized beyond Switzerland's borders in two SRF programs of the science format "Einstein" (2007 and 2017), inspires piano teachers internationally. Since 2008, she has also been training piano teachers in the Schneemann® piano learning system in a certification course - from Module I (SCHNEEMANN® piano pedagogy) to Module II (holistic pianism) and Module III, which from 2025 will give certified teachers the opportunity to open their own regional piano school.
