The View From Home

This collection of essays by philosophers, legal theorists and feminists explores the cultural assumptions surrounding the institution of adoption. Its contributors use the prism of adoption to illuminate and to question the unarticulated presuppositions that underline traditional thinking on a wide range of issues important to feminist philosophy, including mothering, the family, racial, ethnic and cultural identity, and personal identity.
