Freut Mich!

Due to the growing awareness of Germany as a trade partner the number of students choosing a German language option as part of their course has increased dramatically. Because students choosing a language option as part of their main course are not in the first instance linguists, their interest in the language is practical rather than purely linguistic and they want to see how knowledge of the language can be of use to them in their main field of study. This is equally the case with adults taking part in in-company training schemes or on adult education classes. Freut mich! (literally, "pleased to meet you!") caters for these practical needs. The book provides students with a grounding in common social situations as well as the ability to cope in business-related situations. Key features: a structured approach to the grammar of the language with appropriate exercises; common social and business dialogues; written exercises to practice manipulation of the language; background information (largely in German), with supplementary exercises; complementary cassettes available.
It is aimed at students taking a languge on HND/Degree courses or an "Institution-Wide Language Programme" and students on BTEC National Courses with a GCSE-level knowledge of the language. It is also suited to in-company training courses and adult education classes.
