Grandma's Party

Polly is preparing for a very special party. There's a lot to do and everyone is very busy. But no one is too busy to share special memories with Polly, memories of of her grandma whom everyone loved. Polly too has made something that holds memories for gran, and as she hugs grandad very hard, she is ready to say goodbye in her very own way. This gentle and sensitive story is followed by a practical activity section with ideas for ways in which children can help prepare for the gathering which takes place after the funeral, and for the funeral itself. They are also encouraged to express their feelings positively in the time that follows. Activities include: cookery; calligraphy; paper crafts; collage; using flowers and creative writing.
