Sylvia Townsend Warner

Sylvia Townsend Warner, who died in 1978, was a poet, novelist and writer of short stories. This biography makes use of her previously unpublished diaries, and those of her friend and lover, Valentine Ackland. It covers her early life as a musicologist and composer, her years as an active member of the Communist Party, her literary successes and her relationship with Valentine Ackland.
