This is one of a series of topic books to support the depth studies for Britain 1750-1900 and the Twentieth Century World required by the revised National Curriculum. The book focuses on working conditions in Britain's factories, living conditions in towns, and the differences between the lives of skilled craftsmen and casual labourers. It considers whether the changes and reforms that took place really brought improvement to people's lives.
