Even with oxygen permeable lenses, the closure of the eyelids results in relative oxygen deprivation. This text supports the use of daily disposable contact lenses to reduce the risks of contact lens wear. With a focus on corneal physiology, the many considerations and factors of the use of these lenses are discussed.
