Penaeid Shrimps

An international workshop on the scientific basis for the management of the penaeid shrimp provided the material for this book, which gives a summary of the unique problems of the shrimp fisheries. It also gives background information and discusses the problems of scientists and managers, pointing to areas where future work is necessary. The workshop was sponsored by the US Department of Commerce, and the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission, in collaboration with the Fishery Resources and Environmental Division, Food and Agriculture Organization.
