Complex Procedures and Methods in Pelvic Reconstructive and Urogynecologic Surgery

The second of a two-video set, this title encompasses all four procedures in the re-establishment of a normal vaginal axis. Each of these operations emphasizes different aspects of reconstruction in cases of varying extremes and areas of pelvic prolapse, from the urethra to the perineal body. Throughout each procedure, stress is placed on adequate dissection, understanding of normal pelvic anatomy, and the need to establish a firmly-rupported deep vaginal vault as a bottleneck for long-term success. The procedures demonstrated are: vaginal repair of paravaginal defects (WREBS procedure) combined with Nichols urethropexy and sacrospinus ligament fixation; surgical correction of massive pelvic collapse featuring high-traction enterocoele above a totally exteriorized uterus; surgical repair in massive post-hysterectomy posterior vaginal eversion using polytetrafluorethylene suture throughout.
