Intended for psychiatrists and cell biologists, this book discusses the brain processes that are the basis of schizophrenia. It develops the theory of dynamic processes interacting to produce the pathology. Many aspects of human functions are involved, including the effect of rest and exercise; thermoregulation and sleep; the chronobiological activity of these functions; as well as sociopsychological factors. The physiological models of each of these functions integrate modern research with previous information, and retrieve findings from early primary sources that have been overlooked or misinterpreted in the literature. The development of schizophrenia as a dysfunction of these processes and suggested methods of testing the theory, lead to the relevant treatment of schizophrenia.
