This book looks at today's anti-capitalist movement and examines the history of opposition to capitalism throughout the world since the early nineteenth century. It explains attempts by early socialists and communists to think of alternative ways of running an economy and society. It then goes on to look at how the anti-colonial movements and youth revolts of the 1960s evolved into today's new wave of protests. Throughout the book biographies and quotes of significant individuals show how ideas and passions can have an effect on the way society is shaped.
