The functional health patterns group nursing diagnoses into 11 different categories of basic human functions related to health. The text lists definitions, risk factors and related factors for diagnoses and includes assessment guidelines for various client populations. It also identifies high-risk populations for most nursing diagnoses and provides a glossary of nursing diagnosis terminology to aid the nurse in understanding both concepts and application of nursing diagnosis.
