hGH Symposium

This issue features selected contributions from the 3rd hGH Symposium. The aim of the symposium was to present new international perspectives on the management of growth hormone therapy. Different aspects of growth hormone and the reproductive system are examined, such as hGH's effect on ovulation, sexual development and the regulation of male reproductive function. Also discussed are unfavourable clinical events linked directly to the biological actions of hGH, including rare cases of Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease and leukemia, as well as perturbations in thyroid function. Lastly, several contributions explore the fascinating interrelationships between growth, growth hormone and nutrition.
